Quote today from Nightengale-Connant’s Motivational Quote of the Day: “Priorities lead to Prosperity”–Michelle Singletary.
I’m sure Mrs. Singletary’s quote is much deeper than it sounds. Being somewhat thick-headed myself, I need to talk it out. I think you can ask everyone and they’ll tell you they have priorities. Would the same people all tell you they have prosperity? Probably not.
Maybe a modified version of the quote would be closer to true: “Proper Priorities lead to Prosperity”. At least then, if you have the right kind of priorities, you are reasonably assured of success. But then, what of the priorities that are set and not adhered to? What of the plans that are made and not acted upon?
Maybe the quote should be: “Proper Priorities, when Pursued, lead to Prosperity.” We all know that we can’t just look in the right direction to reach our destination…we must MOVE in the right direction if we are to reach our destination.
That’s all for today. I’m back to pursuing my proper priorities.
The children of the poor and middle class “learn nothing about money, except from those who profit from their naivete, and work hard all their lives.” “They work for the owners of their company, for the government paying taxes, and for the bank paying off a mortgage and credit cards.”–Sharon Lechter in Rich Dad Poor Dad
“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”–Proverbs 22:7
Who is teaching your kids?
It is impossible for the income of a person to exceed the image that person has of their Self. Self Image and Income Potential are inextricably linked. Want to improve your income? Improve your self image.
Activity influences self-image
Reading influences self-image
Exercise influences self-image
Do you want to know who you ARE? Look at the Activities in which you engage; look at the books you Read; and look at the Exercise of mind, body and spirit in which you participate.
Do you want to improve who you ARE? Improve (do the right) Activities; improve the books you Read; improve your Exercise (physical fitness, eating right, learning and listening, praying).
In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry.
May God, the Father of Jesus keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from his sanctuary
and strengthen you from Jerusalem.
May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your offerings.
May he grant your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans.
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory,
flying banners to honor our God
May the Lord answer all your prayers.
Now I know that the Lord saves his annointed king.
He will answer from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
Some nations boast of their armies and weapons,
but we boast in the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.
Give victory to our king , O Lord!
Respond to our cry for help.
Psalm 20
“Convenience and greatness do not mix.
“Fix in your mind exactly what it is that you want. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return. Establish a date by which it will have happened. Create a definite plan and begin at once (we are not promised tomorrow). Write your goals out clearly and precisely. Read your written goals out loud twice a day: once before bed and once when you awake.”–Philip Hudgins
“Certainty of death? Small chance of success? What are we waiting for?!”–Dwarf Gimli, when the decision was made to join in the defense of Gondor in the Return of the King.
Attack your goals. Improve your skills. Be enthusiastic every day!
Success is learning from failure. Failure is the opportunity to begin again, more intelligently.
